Barney Miller Ministry?

There is an episode from a 70s-80s TV sitcom called
Barney Miller
where an incredibly efficient cop performed general office support tasks. He was beyond complimentary to all the detectives as well as to the captain, Barney. But Levitt, a downstairs cop who badly wanted to become a detective, was suspicious and investigated. He found out the super cop wasn't a cop at all and told Barney.

Though disappointed because he really liked the guy, Barney just couldn't have him working as a cop when he never was one at all. The man, though he worked well, didn't have a relationship with the department (evaluations, interviews, communications...) Barney had to tell him: We don't know you (never knew you). You must go (depart). What you've done is wrong (iniquity).

There is a biblical, ministerial message in the Barney Miller episode.

An illustration of how salvation works may be found there.

An authentic relationship with Christ Jesus and the transformation he generates within believing, repentant souls will bring about fruit that is produced from a pure heart.

Anything else is "another gospel".

 2 Corinthians 11:3, 4
But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.  For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.
